How to install them?

Instructions for advanced users
(just comments, no screenshots)

If you're an advanced user, you surely know Regedit (or, at least, that's how it's called here in Italy JJJ). Anyway, run the program and make a safe copy of it selecting "Export bla bla bla" from the first menu.

Now, go to

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar

Check if there's already a string called "BackBitmapIE5". If not, as I think, create it using the right button of your mouse and selecting New--> String (or something similar). Now you've to assign to "BackBitmapIE" a value: the value will be the exact path of the webskin. Example: have you downloaded the first webskin (the beautiful one featuring Nadia by Sadamoto), saving it in c:\nadia? Ok, so the value will be "c:\nadia\nadia1.bmp" Now, just run the Internet Explorer and enjoy.

To modify, instead, that little window at top-right, which I called mini web skin, simply change the value of "BrandBitmap" and, if there are already, "SmallBitmap", "SmBrandBitmap" and "BigBitmap" with the path of the mini webskin, as well as you did above. Have you chosen Gargoyle's face and you've it saved on c:\nadia? The right path will be c:\nadia\a.bmp )

Installing a webskin isn't so easy but it's fast and, in about 5, you'll enjoy it in your browser.

We'll use a software called Regedit, featured in Windows (©Microsoft). Here's, step by step. what to do:

MAKE A BACKUP COPY OF REGEDIT !!!! This is important for two reasons: a) you can restore your old gray webskin whenever you want and b) you can avoid problems with your PC if you'll make mistakes during the installation (though the probabilites are SO few). If you ignore how to do it, mail me and I'll explain it well.

Open the file regedit.exe which can be found in c:\windows or wherever you installed Windows.

If something similar to the window below will appear, it's ok ! I don't know if foreign (not Italian I mean) regedit are different...At 99,99% they're the same, changing of couse the writing at top. You'll find a series of directory. Can you see the red box below? This means that directory is the one we need.

Now go to "Software", as shown in the image below

You've to continue going deeper and deeper through directory, following this path: after "Software", go to "Microsoft", then "Internet Explorer" and then, finally, click on "Toolbars"

Something similar to the window below should appear in the right side of your screen, once you selected "Toolbars".

Example: have you downloaded the first webskin (the beautiful one featuring Nadia by Sadamoto), saving it in c:\nadia? Ok, so the value will be "c:\nadia\nadia1.bmp". Have you saved the second webskin in c:\documents\images? Well, the right value to assign to "BackBitmapIE5", will be "c:\documents\images\nadia2.bmp" etc etc. Now, just run the Internet Explorer and enjoy.
